HipHopDX’s annual gaming tournament, DX Turbo, returns Thursday (June 22) at a private location in Hollywood, California, where gamers, rappers, NBA stars and industry tastemakers will battle each other in the video game NBA Playgrounds.Sponsored by Boost Mobile, the event boasts notable names like King Los, Baron Davis, Trae Tha Truth, Dizzy Wright, Kirko Bangz, Timothy Bloom and Nick Grant. Pro gamers including K-Brad, IpodKingCarter, iMAV3RIQ and Chris Tatarian will also be in attendance and music will be provided by DJ Hed.

Hosts include #DXLive’s Marcel Williams and Jake Rohn, as well as gamers Tasty Steve, Jeremy Lopez and Rynge.

All participants will compete for the title of NBA Playgrounds King and the winning team will receive first place trophies, gold PS4 1TB gaming consoles, Samsung headphones and Samsung GS8 mobile phones.

NBA Playgrounds is a two-on-two arcade basketball game that should bring back memories of classics including NBA Jam and NBA Streets. The game, created by Saber Interactive (Shaq Fu Returns), includes 30 NBA teams as well as a deep roster of current and retired NBA players. The game is available on all major gaming consoles and PC  and features an incredible soundtrack rooted in Hip Hop.

The action-packed tournament will be broadcast live on HipHopDX’s Twitch channel (twitch.tv/hiphopdx) on June 22 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. PST.
