Stream Kool G Rap’s “Return Of The Don” Album Produced Entirely By MoSS

The legacy continues as Kool G Rap shares his latest album, Return of the Don.

The 11-track project is produced entirely by MoSS and includes guest appearances from across the Hip Hop sphere: Raekwon, Freeway, Noreaga, Fred The Godson, Cormega, Sheek Louch, Saigon, Termanology, Fame, KXNG Crooked, Shady Records’ Conway The Machine & Westside Gunn and the late, great Sean Price.

This is the follow-up to Kool G Rap’s 2011 project, Riches, Royalty & Respect, his lone full-length album of the decade until now.

Check out Kool G Rap’s Return of the Don album stream below and keep scrolling for the cover art and tracklist.

(This article was first published May 5, 2017 and is below.)

From a technical standpoint, not too many MCs have the lyrical versatility of Kool G Rap. The godfather of Mafioso rap has been on hiatus for most of the decade, having just one full-length release back in 2011. But he’s back with the aptly titled Return of the Don to fully command his lane once again.

Scored in its entirety by Canadian producer MoSS (credits include nearly every name brand MC in the Tri-State area of the past five years), Return of the Don also employs the talents of Raekwon, Freeway, Noreaga, Fred The Godson, Cormega, Sheek Louch, Saigon, Termanology, Fame, KXNG Crooked, Conway The Machine & Westside Gunn (the newest signees to Eminem’s Shady Records) and the late, great Sean Price.

The HipHopDX offices will be rocking to this album for the next couple of weeks ahead of its June 2, 2017 release date so check down below for the cover art and full tracklist and mark your calendar for the live album stream.

    1. Way too many features. More than all kool g albums combined damn near. I wanna hear all kool g

      1. At this point in his career, G Rap needs features. His background peer/core audience is in their 40’s and 50’s.

    2. Wow. That’s dope. If it’s a real good album, I’ll buy it. Rap needs this bad right now. Nobody from the old school is holding it down at all.

        1. How pathetic does one’s life have to become that they copy someone else’s handle on a website.. Lmao.. This is too funny… yet sad. G Rap is one of the GOAT’s.

          1. lol @ this fool backtracking becuase an internet tough guy scared him online. nice excuse candy ass

      1. Uh, no – he’s simply a human, who can produce pretty good instrumentals. He has nothing to do with being a beast. Such a stupid expression, stop using it.

        1. pull your panties up harry just because you don’t use that expression gtfoh nobody stopping how they talk for you

    3. Fuck that …bone thugs album dropping same day..im going with bone theyve always been around

    4. Bust a nut get up & wipe my dick in her curtains…

Should have some gems these new cats can’t hold a candle to the goats of the past

    5. I swear to you Nas must bust a nut in your mouth or something because you are always on Nas’ s D!

Nas is the GOAT my nukka…

      1. Young Thug is so wack! Fuckin douche dresses like a fuckin women & you think he’s better the Kool G Rap. Go have sex with yourself fuck ya asshole. Kool G Rap is a fuckin legend & lyrics are so much better then Young Thug. Give your head a shake fuck!

    6. Yesssss.
Article is wrong. Kool G Raps last album was with Necro.
      That album was hard af

    7. Looking forward to this one. Feeling blessed to experience legends, like G Rap, Common, Talib Kweli etc still drop quality music in 2017. Maybe youngers mocking these legends don’t realize this until their late 30’s when they’re waiting for Panda to drop another album.

    8. This looks like the hardest album tracklist ever look at them features all he need is a couple more tracks on his own and a styles p n ghostface feature and BOOM every one that has ever spit some thug shit need to cop this and support it let people know G Rap started this gangsta shit Dre n Cube even know this

    9. Blasphemy using Nas name in vain, some claim supreme being yet they lied in his name. Who comes up with shit like that?

      1. I could say mumble rap/ratchet/swag rap is trash and there are many who would agree but it’s not necessary to go there… There’s different kinds of hip hop. Boom bap old school hip hop might not be for you. That’s fine, but there’s no need say it’s trash considering that had it not been for that form of music, there’d be no such thing as mumble rap. It probably wouldn’t exist. No need to be a hater. If you don’t like it, pass it by and go listen to Future and Lil Uzi Vert. No harm done.

      2. Go listen to your young thug album. If you don’t think the track “running” on this album is incredible then you have no idea what Hip Hop is. You are the type of “man” that wears rompers, colors his hair pink and listens to pop music that tries to pass as Hip Hop. These MC’s – no matter the age – have more talent in their index finger than you will ever be able to muster your entire life.

        Loser.

    10. So sad to see some washed up rappers who are 45 or 49 years old rapping about shooting, killing selling drugs. Get a life. You aint 18 years anymore. Stp the gangsta bullshit and learn todays kids something.

      1. Yeah, like all the guys from the Godfather were in their 20’s…look at G Rap’s albums as if they were gangster movies – that’s all. Not educative, not spiritual, or religious, but criminal. If there is still a niche for these kind of albums why not making any more of them? I personally prefer a new Kool G Rap or Mobb Deep album than a new Drake, Joe Cole, or Kendrick Lamar – I find the latter quite annoying and overhyped. Sue me – this is my opinion.

      2. these young-ins are not looking to hear nothing from a OG they seem to preoccupied with finding pants two sz’s smaller than er body else and getting higher than GOD

      3. Kids meant to look up to their parents ….NOT RAPPERS!!!!!!!!Dope bars are NEVER washed up.You expect him to lie and rap as if he was raised in the suburbs? And u ever watched any gangster mafia movies? They wouldn’t be taken seriously if they had teenagers arranging major drug deals and hits etc…Gangster shit is GROWN MAN shit.Late 20‘s UPWARDS!!!!!!!!

    11. I feel you, but the good thing is, in hip hop, there’s something for everybody. You want conscious, righteous, educational raps: Common, Talib, Immortal Technique. You want fun party stuff, there’s Migos, Lil Yachty, Uzi Vert. You want hard hitting boom bap, there’s Wu Tang, DJ Premier and Kool G Rap. This one is for the latter. Theres obviously still a huge audience for it. Chill out.

      1. Directed to “struggling legend” (hhdx, this UX is atrocious! How bout when you hit REPLY to someone it appear below that entry. Pretty straight forward and intuitive.)

    12. great, another 50 year old rapper talking about violence, crime and drugs. all the “real hip hop” heads will be happy, but they still won’t buy it.

    13. YOU CAN SPIT GANGSTER SHIT AT ANY AGE IM 27 AND THIS MUSIC IS FIRE IT DONT MEAN HES REALLY LIVING IT I DONT CARE IF HES 70 HE CAN SAY WHAT HE WANTS POTATO_WITH_JIVE SEEMS TO KNOW WHAT HES TALKING ABOUT

    14. ANYONE DISSING THIS LEGEND CAN SUCK YOUR MOMS DICK THIS SHIT IS HARD AND HOW IN THE FUCK DO WE KNOW WHATS IN THESE GUYS POCKETS THEY GOT MORE MONEY THAN ALL OF US STILL SO STOP THE HATE AND ALL U OLD HEADS DISSIN HIM BEHIND A KEYBOARD U SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF SO FUCK UZI VERT MIGOS YACHTY DRAKE AND ALL THIS BULLSHIT YALL LISTEN TO

    15. Its amazing how after 30 years in the game he can still outspit every person on his feature list..!
Dope disc! G rap never slacks! he fathered most of these cats!
4.5/5 less features ,more depth and a longer disc woulda made it perfect but still marvelous work from the Godfather of Rap!
