nas & The Soul rebels – “Hate me now”
Nas has previously teamed up with live bands before, such as when he celebrated 20 years of Illmatic by performing the album cover-to-cover with The National Symphony Orchestra at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. in 2014. He’s performed with The Roots backing him up as well. Now, the legendary Queens MC has linked up with the NOLA-based brass ensemble The Soul Rebels for a rendition of “Hate Me Now” from 1999’s I Am… album. Watch above.
A$AP Rocky – “unreleased song (Live)”
A$AP Rocky apparently premiered an unreleased track at Coachella last weekend during a “Weedmaps” party. The song allegedly features Juicy J, but it’s unclear where it comes from or what it’s even called. Nevertheless, check it out above.
p-lo f. e-40 – “somethin'”
Bay Area rapper P-Lo has recruited the Bay Area king E-40 to play a driving instructor in his new “Somethin'” video, which revolves around a dreaded trip to the DMV. Produced by P-Lo himself, the song is a prime example of what the Filipino-American rapper can do behind the scenes as well. The video serves as a warm-up for P-Lo’s upcoming More Than Anything project with E-40, G-Eazy, Marc E Bassy, Skizzy Mars, Iamsu!, Rexx Life Raj, Feez, and Kool John.
mac miller f. ty dolla $ign – “cinderella”
Mac Miller revisits his The Divine Feminine album for the “Cinderella” video, which also features a guest spot from Ty Dolla $ign. Directed by Bo Mirosseni, the video takes the eight-minute song and turns it into a 12-minute short film, where Miller is in search of his “angel.”
Travis scott – “goosebumps (Live)”
Following his set at Coachella over the weekend, Travis Scott made a stop at The Ellen Show where he performed “goosebumps.” Although Kendrick Lamar was noticeably absent, Mike Dean was along for the ride and manned the decks as Scott performed the Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight track.
Cuz Lightyear f. killer mike – “pots n pans”
Directed by Nasser Boulaich and Aditya Pamidi, Cuz Lightyear’s new video for “Pots N Pans” featuring Run The Jewels rapper Killer Mike finds the duo posted up at an auto repair shop, spitting about their rise to notoriety.
Dj qbert – “turntable tv”
DJ QBert of the Invisibl Skratch Piklz (ISP) is here with another episode of Turntable TV, a nearly two-hour journey into the world of turntablism. ISP (Qbert, D Styles and Shortkut) dropped an album last year called The 13th Floor, and now the group is gearing up to perform some of their first shows as a crew in years this weekend in Denver, Colorado.
Rich Chigga – “back at it”
Seventeen-year-old Indonesian rapper Rich Chigga has resurfaced with the new single “Back At It,” a song that clearly announces his return. The track is a precursor to his upcoming 5-city American tour, which kicks off in Los Angeles next week and marks his first time to the United States.
Trakksounds f. Dizzy Wright – “feel alive”
Houston-based DJ/producer TrakkSounds has dropped a moody new single, “Feel Alive,” which features Dizzy Wright and T2. The song is taken from TrakkSounds’ upcoming album The Other Side. Album guests include Scarface, Starlito, Devin The Dude, A$AP Ferg, Kevin Gates, Dizzy Wright, Maxo Kream, Killa Kyleon, Kirko Bangz, and Xavier Wulf and is expected to arrive on April 25.
DJ Cassidy f. Lil Yachty – “Honor”
After emerging from the shadows following a two-year hiatus, DJ Cassidy makes a colorful splash with his new video for “Honor,” which also features the star power of Lil Yachty and singer Grace. The song is scheduled to appear on the upcoming The Get Down, Pt. II soundtrack.
mpulse – “All You Got”
Produced by Don Cannon, Mpulse’s latest creation, “All You Got,” continues his 52 Weeks Campaign, which is a goal the MC started last year to release a new single every week for a year.
