Kevin Gates will be transferred to Illinois without being extradited, Florida newspaper The Ledger reports.

The Islah rapper had a court hearing yesterday (March 24) in Polk County, Florida where he waived extradition, meaning he is accepting the transfer without a separate hearing to determine if the transfer is justified.

Gates was set to be freed from jail after serving his 180-day sentence for kicking a fan at a Florida show in the fall of 2015. Before his release, authorities found a warrant for weapons charges in Cook County, Illinois from 2013 and he remained behind bars.
