Detroit, MI – Big Sean’s I Decided. album is nearly upon us here(!), but the Detroit MC gave his hometown a taste of the project before the rest of the world.
Sean Don gave an intimate crowd of about 100 people a listening session Sunday (January 29) at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, the Detroit Free Press reports.
During the 45-minute listening session, Big Sean played “No Favors,” the highly-anticipated track featuring Eminem, which is described as “high-energy” and had one fan yelling out “The whole city’s been waiting for this!”
Those in attendance included Big Sean’s family, friends and members of the Flint Chozen Choir, who appear on the project’s closing track, “Bigger Than Me.”
The sound in the museum apparently wasn’t working properly and the rapper apologized for the conditions, but relished the moments with his loved ones, including rapping along to the heartfelt “Inspire Me” to his mother.
Sean left quickly after playing the album to catch a flight to Los Angeles, but said his work for the city isn’t done: “I’m gonna keep kicking that door open.”
Big Sean’s I Decided. is set for release Friday (February 3).
