The rivalry between the Seattle Seahawks and the Atlanta Falcons has nothing on the rivalry fans have created between Atlanta rapper Future and Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.
This week, a petition popped up requesting that Future perform the National Anthem at this weekend’s playoff game between the Falcons and Seahawks.
Created by Edwyn H (possibly restaurateur/Hip Hop head Eddie Huang), the petition has received nearly 700 supporters as of today (January 10), with a goal of 1,000.

“Russell Wilson is a chilly pimp,” the petition reads. “I don’t f#&k with him because he reminds me of Eriq LaSalle’s character, Darryl Jenks, the heir to the Soul Glo empire in Coming to America.”

The petition creator later goes on to make mention of the past relationship between Future and Ciara, who is now married to Wilson.
“Future coincidentally was engaged to and reportedly laced Russell’s current wife in Gucci flip flops,” the petition creator writes. “I believe that if Future sings the national anthem, Russell Wilson, the Seahawks, and Soul Glo will all take Ls. This would be great for humanity but especially America, which we all know is going through a very tough time right now.”
Dan Quinn, head coach for the Falcons, has already confirmed that there will be no shady shenanigans during this weekend’s game.

Just a few days ago, it was reported that Ciara chose to drop her $15 million defamation suit against Future, with whom she has a two-year-old son.
