Gisborne, NZ – Chicago wordsmith Chance The Rapper has taken a serious liking to the land of Kiwis.
According to Stuff.co.nz, during Chance’s first show in New Zealand, which took place yesterday (December 29), he gushed about the country and expressed his interest in moving to the island nation.
HipHopDX’s MC of the Year later revealed that he wants a house with a pool, a German Shepherd, and a local boo during his set at the Rhythm and Vines Festival in Gisborne, New Zealand.
For those who may have felt that Chance was merely hyping the crowd with his flowery comments, he later tweeted about wanting to move to New Zealand “in the next 15 years.”
The Windy City lyricist even offered a chart on the currency rate for the U.S. dollar in New Zealand.
Despite a cost of living reportedly equivalent to that of Los Angeles, New Zealand is consistently featured as a top destination for expats. In September of this year, the country was listed as the #2 pick on Conde Nast Traveler’s “The 10 Best Countries to Live in for Expats” list because of its “easygoing, friendly environment.”
Those in the country boast an average weekly earning of $1,123.21 (New Zealand Dollars) while the unemployment rate is 4.9%.
