A $1 million deal between Miami superstar Pitbull and Visit Florida, Florida’s tourism marketing agency, has landed a handful of people in hot water.

The shake-up began after Pitbull posted his contract with Visit Florida online.

On December 15, Pitbull tweeted “*FULL DISCLOSURE – FLORIDA*” along with sharing a Dropbox link of the 11-page document.

In addition to listing a payment schedule for the $1 million Pitbull was to receive, the contract also lists several social media and performance-based obligations.

Additionally, the rapper was required to “create and produce a music video entitled ‘Sexy Beaches’ featuring Talent.”

Released this summer, Pitbull’s “Sexy Beaches” video featured a variety of Florida beaches. The full video is below.

While Pitbull has been applauded by those on social media for his full disclosure regarding his deal with Visit Florida, those at the marketing agency are now facing a fallout.

According to the SunHerald, the governor of Florida, Rick Scott, has asked for Will Seccombe, the CEO of Visit Florida to step down due to his refusal to publicly disclose news of Pitbull’s $1 million deal, which was likely funded by taxpayer money.

“The notion that Visit Florida spending would not be transparent to the taxpayers is just ridiculous,” Scott wrote in a letter to William Talbert, chairman of Visit Florida’s Board of Directors. “We must have major reforms at Visit Florida in the weeks ahead that require new leadership.”

Seccombe has reportedly obliged to the governor’s request and the positions of chief financial officer and chief marketing officer “were eliminated.”
