Just days after hinting that he was done with Power over a Golden Globes snub, rapper-turned-actor 50 Cent has signed on to appear in the upcoming Gerard Butler film Den Of Thieves, according to Deadline.

Fiddy will play a bank robber in the movie, which follows the story of a heist on a Federal Reserve Bank in Los Angeles and the subsequent investigation. Butler himself will play a crooked cop, as well as produce the movie. Christian Gudegast, who began his career as a rap music video director, is slated to direct the film.

According to Deadline, Den Of Thieves will begin filming next month in Atlanta, Georgia. The movie is scheduled for release in 2018, and no other actors have been confirmed as of yet.

It’s definitely the kind of boost that would be beneficial to 50’s acting career, especially if he’s serious about being done with his Power TV show like he wrote in a recent IG tirade when the Golden Globes nominations snubbed the series.

“I’m on the move again, Golden globe’s can suck a dick. I accept my series POWER was not intended to be a signature show for the network but it is the highest rated show … I’m done promoting this out side of contractual obligations. SEASON 4 KANAN MUST DIE, I got other shit to do,” he wrote.
