Cole didn't allow the fame and accolades change him like the rest of these rappers of late. He mastered the art of staying in his lane while still being a major artist in the game. He knows knowledge of self. Much respect.

I'm digging the first video where's he riding through Ville on the truck. My peeps stay around the corner on Skibo Rd. Man I love the south. I'm also digging the Fayetteville State jersey. Great look for NC. This recording process documentary builds the anticipation for the album for sure. Salute Cole!

Amazing production. Amazing teaser for what will be another classic J Cole album. First verse in False Prophets was certainly about Kanye as Drake is more of J Cole's peer than the legend J Cole referenced in the song. At first listen I thought he was going at Drake but Kanye also has allegations of ghost writers. He also refers to himself as a genius. Given J Coles rapper/producer talents the "idol" he was speaking about would apply more appropriately to Kanye. 2nd verse was about Wale. Epic bars. Very timely given what Kanye is currently going through.

As fans of both of these artists and an avid listener of their music, I think I've stumbled across some light jabs between J Cole and Joe Budden. Now it's obvious that Cole was going at Kanye on the "False Prophets" track, but I also think he was responding to Joe Budden for an earlier mention on the track "Love I'm Good". Check out this correlation... On the track "Fire Squad" Cole says, "History repeats itself and that's just how it goes Same way that these rappers always bite each others flows Same thing that my nigga Elvis did with Rock n Roll Justin Timberlake, Eminem and then Macklemore..." He took an obvious jab at white artists, including Eminem. Everyone knows about Joe Budden and his relationship with Shady Records. Then Budden, on the "Love I'm Good" track goes on to say, " When Common stopped lovin' ol' girl, what was he tellin' me? Cole world, now she won't dig you without a melody Love nerds, used to be into niggas with felonies..." Sounds to me like he was getting back for that Eminem mention. Now we have the "Everybody Dies" track. Peep these lyrics and read between the lines, "You know, mass destruction when I mash the button Now take your favorite major rapper, left them independent Crying in the corner cuz I ain't in to sorta Kinda, dissing niggas I'm borderline addicted to slaughter." If you listen to the beginning of that first verse it sounds as if Cole was referencing the whole Jay Z, Joe Budden, and Def Jam relationship in the past. The way he says, "mash the button" caught my attention too. Has anyone else made this correlation? Does it seem legit?

This confirms for me that 2017 will have some awe inspiring music. We have to be able to look forward to something!

J cole is a hell of a rapper. I think him and Lloyd Banks would be a dope collab but Cole would have to bring his A game.
