Miami, FL

On the Port-Au-Prince opener, “For My People,” red-hot Miami upstart Zoey Dollaz spits half his bars in Creole, outlining the mixtape’s mission to be truly respected from the Haitian blood, sweat and tears he put into it.

An artist such as Zoey Dollaz fully exemplifies why rappers destined to make it need not look to a magazine cover or scouting report to validate their arrival. His breakthrough single “Blow a Check” made him hood certified and caught the attention of Future, French Montana and Diddy, while its follow-up, “Hottest in the City,” proved he actually possessed lyricism and agility with his flow and wasn’t out to simply ride a beat or trap wave.

The Port-Au-Prince stream dropped at 5:09 p.m. EST — the specific time is special to Zoey as it’s Haiti’s area code.
