It looks like Joe Budden is armed and ready for the next step in his war of words with Drake.

The Slaughterhouse rapper previewed a track on Periscope Saturday (June 25) that casts aside the subliminals, directly referencing the Toronto superstar.

The low audio quality makes it tough to discern exactly what he’s saying in the clip, but one part is very clear.

“My words ain’t ghostwritten I ain’t Drake / That’s all gimmick I’m authentic I ain’t Drake / Ain’t nothing wrong with it, only saying I ain’t fake,” he raps on the song, which he bobs his head along to while smoking a cigarette in the video.

The beef has been a slow-roasted one so far. It started after Views dropped, when Budden critiqued Drake’s passion and progression on the new album, saying on his podcast that Drizzy sounded “uninspired.” Later, French Montana previewed a clip of a soon-to-drop song that featured the opening line of Drake’s verse, seemingly a reference to Budden’s 2003 hit, “Pump It Up.” Budden also broke down the reasons he thought parts of Drake’s “4PM In Calabasas” track were sly digs at him.

Budden’s new clip definitely caught people’s attention online, but the New Jersey MC downplayed the combative nature of the song on Twitter, telling one follower “lol, that wasn’t a diss…. Ppl will know when I diss anyone.”
