St. Kitts

50 Cent and parental advisory stickers have been synonymous with one another since the 40-year-old rap star’s grand inception back in the late 90s, but apparently the authorities in St. Kitts don’t care.

The West Indies island has laws that seemingly forbid swearing on stage and when Fiddy was performing his lawsuit-laden 2003 hit “P.I.M.P.” during his headlining performance last night (June 25) at the 2016 St. Kitts Music Festival, he rapped the chorus “No Cadillac, no perms, you can’t see/That I’m a motherfucking P-I-M-P” and was arrested at the conclusion of the show. According to the Jamaica Observer, his bodyguard Bajar Walter was also charged with obstruction and Making use of Indecent Language.

TMZ reports that the G-Unit head honcho’s DJ was partially to blame, as he didn’t have the Gold-selling record’s clean version on hand and 50 couldn’t be bothered in the heat of the moment to literally censor himself. Police showed up, arrested and booked 50 at the station and he will have to remain in the Carribean until Monday until he gets his court date.

On the bright side, the cursing crime is only a misdemeanor and he’ll get away with just paying a fine. On a related note, there will be more than a small price to pay if 50, Denaun Porter and Dr. Dre are found guilty of stealing the beat used to create the hit record more than a decade ago. A relatively unknown producer recently filed a lawsuit alleging that he sent in the beat to Aftermath and never got any compensation or attribution.

In 2003, DMX was slapped with the very same charge and fined for his uncensored lyrics at the St. Kitts Music Festival.
