Fetty Wap’s “Wake Up” music video under investigation due to film location.

According to NJ.com, the Paterson, New Jersey school district is investigating Fetty Wap’s “Wake Up” music video, now that it has been confirmed that the video was filmed at Eastside High School in Paterson.

Officials, who are currently at work trying to pinpoint who approved filming, expressed concern over the various drug references in the the “Wake Up” song and video.

“As there are procedures that must be followed in securing the use of our facilities, whether all procedures were followed is in question and being investigated – and will be addressed as a personnel matter,” Terry Corallo, the district’s spokeswoman said while speaking with NJ.com. “The district does not endorse the content of this video.”

At the start of the “Wake Up” video, a message states that “I went back to my old high school to shoot this video. A nobody, high school dropout now known worldwide as Fetty Wap.”

Although the video was filmed at Eastside High School, Corallo revealed that no students were involved.

In an Instagram post uploaded weeks ago, Fetty Wap declared that “Wake Up” was dedicated to “everyone that celebrates 4/20 all year but still passes that math test.”

Ironically, NJ.com reports that the Paterson school district suffered from a 70 percent increase in positive drug test among its students.
