Amidst the explosion of social media frenzy about her relationship with Jay Z, Rachel Roy released a statement to People to debunk rumors that the Rap mogul cheated on Beyonce with her. The fashion designer created an uproar when she made an Instagram post referencing Beyonce’s “Becky” line on her LEMONADE album.

“Good hair, don’t care, but we will take good lighting, for selfies, or self truths, always,” the fashion designer writes for the caption of a picture of her and a friend taking a selfie. “Live in the light #nodramaqueens.”

In her statement, Roy says that her post was misunderstood and seeks to clarify her intentions.

“I want to put the speculation and rumors to rest,” Roy says. “My Instagram post was meant to be fun and lighthearted, it was misunderstood as something other than that. There is no validity to the idea that the song references me personally. There is no truth to the rumors.”

Roy, who used to be married to Dame Dash and has two daughters with the entrepreneur, says that the cyber bullying that occurred after she made the initial post should be decried.

“Consequently, online haters have targeted me and my daughters in a hurtful and scary manner, including physical threats,” she says. “As a mother – and I know many mothers would agree – I feel that bullying in any form is harmful and unacceptable.

“I would hope that the media sees the real issue here – the issue of cyber bullying – and how it should not be tolerated by anyone.”

Beyonce’s LEMONADE album made headlines for many reasons, including its surprise release, the fact that it premiered as a movie, and because the singer calls out Jay Z for cheating.

There are multiple hints at infidelity throughout the project, but perhaps the strongest reference is on the song, “Sorry,”  when Beyonce says that “He only want me when I’m not there/ He better call Becky with the good hair.”

Rachel Roy, Dame Dash‘s ex-wife, took to Twitter today (April 24) to address reports that she is the mistress referenced on the song.

“I respect love, marriages, families and strength,” she says. “What shouldn’t be tolerated by anyone, no matter what, is bullying, of any kind.”

Prior to this, she made a post on Instagram to seemingly comment on Beyonce’s “Becky” line.

“Good hair, don’t care, but we will take good lighting, for selfies, or self truths, always,” the fashion designer writes for the caption of a picture of her and a friend taking a selfie. “Live in the light #nodramaqueens.”

Roy’s profile has since been made private, but VladTV captured the post.

Roy was reportedly the reason Solange Knowles attacked Jay Z in an elevator in 2014. Beyonce’s sister confronted her prior to the elevator incident, demanding her to stay away from Beyonce’s husband.
