Snoop Dogg knows a thing or two about roasting folks as well as being roasted, having been on board for Comedy Central’s famed roasts of Justin Bieber, Flavor Flav, and a guy who is running for president by the name of Donald Trump.

Russell Simmons’ All Def Digital wants to pay tribute to the legendary rapper by putting the bullseye on his forehead, making him the first celeb to get his soul torched with the unveiling of the All Def Roast, which will air as a partnership in connection with Snoop’s greenery headquarters, MERRY JANE.

“Over the years, I have roasted several entertainers and friends and now it’s my turn to be in the hot seat,” Snoop Dogg tells The Hollywood Reporter. “I’ve got mad love for what Russell has done with All Def Digital and am looking forward to seeing what ADD and MERRY JANE have up their sleeves for my roast. And as they say, ‘if you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.”

The All Def Roast announcement comes off the heels of the All Def Movie Awards, which aired during this year’s Oscar Weekend and served as an alternative honoring platform for the more black and Hip Hop-related films many (Snoop especially) feel traditionally get snubbed at the mainstream events. The All Def Roast will be produced by Chris Conti and Jeru Tillman and Simmons couldn’t be more excited.

“Snoop had such an amazing time with us at the All Def Movie Awards, when we told him about our idea to launch a new breed of Def Roasts,” he was immediately on board as our first honoree. We are jointly partnering with his company Merry Jane to roll up the best roast ever,” said Simmons says. “The All Def Comedy Roast will reimagine the format and be completely fresh, fun and irreverent.”

All Def Comedy Live reportedly also has some programming lined up with HBO that should coincide with the latest announcement.
