On the song, which is titled “Famous,” Kanye raps: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex, I made that bitch famous.”

According to Kanye, Swift “gave her blessings” and also the idea for the song. He also added that the word “bitch” is “an endearing term in hip hop.”

“3rd thing I called Taylor and had a hour long convo with her about the line and she thought it was funny and gave her blessings. 4th Bitch is an endearing term in hip hop like the word Nigga. 5th thing I’m not even gone take credit for the idea… it’s actually something Taylor came up with …She was having dinner with one of our friends who’s name I will keep out of this and she told him. I can’t be mad at Kanye because he made me famous! #FACTS,” Kanye West wrote in a series of tweets sent earlier today (February 12).

Contrary to what Kanye shared on Twitter today, an alleged statement from a rep for Swift states the opposite.

The New York Times’ Jon Caramanica shared what was labeled a “Statement From Taylor Swift’s Spokesperson,” in an Instagram post.

The statement reads: “Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyrics, ‘I made that bitch famous.’”
