The weird thing is that you're actually kind of right, past HOV Live Nation deal payola, none of the companies they have bought under his stewardship in that deal are making money. Most of his financing for purchasing those companies is coming through Live Nation and not out of his own pocket. None of those ventures are making money, he would have to rely off his music/back catalog and touring to get cash. Also, just because he owns part of certain companies doesn't mean he has that money on hand, people may say Tidal is worth X amount but it's really not worth X amount unless someone is willing to buy it.
