Jarren Benton posted on Instagram yesterday (January 3) that he is leaving Funk Volume to join No Limit Records. This comes right after Funk Volume artist and co-founder Hopsin threatened to leave the label due to a reported dispute with CEO Damien Ritter.
“We all heard the news about @hopsinson leaving @funkvolume,” Jarren Benton writes for the caption of a picture of No Limit’s logo. “I’m also venturing out on my own with Master P to revamp No Limit records.#nolimitsoldier.”
Benton’s lone LP with Funk Volume is 2013’s My Grandma’s Basement. In February, he released the Slow Motion Volume One EP.
Master P‘s No Limit Records thrived in the 1990s with himself, Silkk The Shocker, C-Murder, E-A-Ski and Snoop Dogg.
