Pimp C’s Long Live The Pimp project is scheduled to be released tomorrow (December 4). The will be the late rapper’s first album in more than four years.

Pimp C‘s widow, Chinara Butler, curated the music for the set.

Pimp C’s son, Chad Butler, Jr., released a statement about Long Live the Pimp to express his dissatisfaction with the rollout of his father’s music.

“I want PimpC fans to know that his family – myself and my younger brother Corey Butler – had no part in the creation of this ‘new’ PimpC album and don’t receive any of the benefits from album sales,” he says via press release. “The only person who benefits is his wife Chinara, who doesn’t return phone calls or communicate with us at all, and possibly our sister Christian, but even that is debatable. My father was always supportive of myself and my brother, and I know he wouldn’t want us to be forgotten as a part of his legacy.”

Pimp C died in 2007 from a combination of factors including a codeine overdose and complications from a pre-existing sleep condition.
