Jurassic 5 and Ozomatli deejay Cut Chemist is set to release 1,000 limited edition vinyl pressings of his Funk Off Megamix tomorrow (November 27).

The project acts as a precursor to Chemist’s upcoming sophomore solo album, as well as a follow-up to his mixes The Litmus Test and Sound Of The Police.

For the album, Chemist drew inspiration from French outfits Pacific 231 and Vox Populi! with guest appearances from Edan and Mr. Lif, both of whom appeared on “Storm” off Cut’s debut solo album, The Audience Is Listening.

“I found a Vox Populi! and Pacific 231 record in Italy in 2004, sampled it and made the song ‘Storm,’” Cut Chemist explained in a press release for the project. “I loved it so much because it was very cutting edge, kind of electro, but psychedelic and weird at the same time.”

The album can be downloaded here, or, alternatively, it can be streamed via Cut Chemist’s SoundCloud page.

The limited edition vinyl can be purchased here.
