A$AP Ferg’s sophomore studio album, Always Strive And Prosper, is set to feature production from some of Hip Hop’s most sought after producers.

“With this album I’ve worked with probably any producer you ever can think of,” A$AP Ferg said during a recent interview with MTV News in New York City. “All the way from Pharrell. I went to [Noah “40” Shebib] crib for a week. I worked with one of his producers Hagler [Tyrant] who has an amazing record that’s crazy with me, Chris Brown and Ty Dolla $ign. I have a crazy record with [DJ] Mustard and Stelios [Phili] who collaborated on the beat, which is my in-house producer… I worked with Swizz [Beatz], he was one of the first people I worked with. His energy is crazy.”

Despite the variety of producers Ferg has worked with on the album, he remains confident that the project will still sound cohesive as he’s enlisted the help of DJ Khalil to bring it all together.

“I had [DJ] Khalil kind of spearhead it,” he added. “So I worked with DJ Khalil closely just to bring the whole project together. He brought in an orchestra, opera singers, violin players just to kind of make it real musical.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, A$AP Ferg took some time to reflect on his close friend A$AP Yams, who passed away earlier this year.

“Yams was hella funny,” Ferg said. “We called him the Puerto Rican R. Kelly. The Spanish Bobby Brown. He had too many names. Baby Newport. Yamborghini. He was just a visionary. Me and Yams, before I was signed, we would stay on the phone for hours just laughing, joking [and] coming up with ideas… I speak to his Mom everyday. She’s constantly reminded of him through us. We’re her sons. She’s always telling me to come out to eat and do things with the family.”
