Miami, FL – DJ Khaled received the keys to Miami yesterday (October 29), according to a press release.

Miami city mayor Tomás Pedro Regalado presented DJ Khaled with the honor at Citrus Grove Middle School. The Miami artist watched students perform and presented a check for $5,000 to the school’s music program.

The I Changed A Lot deejay shared his thoughts on the award via Instagram.

“Thank u so much for having me and giving me the platform to inspire the young world and for me to give back to my home that I love MIAMI!,” he writes for the caption of a collage with pictures of the key and him with the mayor. “God is Greatest! Bless up!”
