Kanye West announced his promise to run for President of the United States in 2020 at the MTV’s Video Music Awards in late August.

“I don’t know what I’m finna lose after this,” Kanye West says during his Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award acceptance speech at the MTV VMAs. “It don’t matter, though; It’s not about me. It’s about ideas. New ideas. People with ideas. People who believe in truth,” West said. “And yes, as you probably could’ve guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president.”

Kanye West has received the support of the DNC, Donald Trump and Ben Carson since his announcement and a “Yeezy2020” campaign was also created.
