Tech N9ne featured Eminem on his “Speedom” song from his Special Effects album, which was released in May.

During an interview with City Pages, Tech N9ne says he did not meet Eminem while working on the first song on which they appeared together, 1999’s “The Anthem.”

“My first time shaking Em’s hand face-to-face [was] on the video set,” Tech N9ne says during the interview of “The Anthem” video shoot. “We always had a good vibe. I’m just happy to be in the circle of these extreme lyricists.

“The Anthem” was featured on Sway & King Tech’s 1999 album, This Or That. The song also featured Pharoahe Monch, Chino XL, Kool G Rap and KRS-One.

While at the shoot for the song’s video, Tech N9ne also says he was surprised by KRS-One’s reaction to seeing him.

“He pointed at me and winked at me and said, ‘Yes sir,’” Tech N9ne says. “I was like, ‘Wow, KRS-One acknowledged me.’ When I was coming in, Eminem was coming out. ‘Brother, how you doing man?’ ‘What’s up Tech? How you doing?’ It was a wonderful experience, thanks to Sway and King Tech.”
