As an artist who once publicly contemplated suicide, Los Angeles, California rapper Hopsin took time to speak with Vlad TV about the effect his comments had on his career. He explained that it had those around him concerned for his well-being.

The musician later admitted that he does sometimes get emotional. He revealed that he’s learning and growing as he gets older, and although he does have his moments every now and then, they’re less frequent.

Hopsin explained that with a lack of friends who are in the limelight, it can be hard to find someone who understands what he’s going through.

“I get emotional sometimes,” Hopsin said. “That’s just how I am. Human beings, we’re all different. Some of us are extremely aggressive. Some people get emotional. Some people are super jolly. Some people are just numb and whatever. I just—Certain things can really just make me get emotional. And I just start hating life sometimes. But I’m learning. I’m growing. I’m learning and I don’t do it often. It happened more in my early twenties. But every now and then, one of those times it just comes up. Especially being in the limelight. It makes you feel like you don’t have anybody. And I don’t really have any celebrity friends…So, it’s hard to find someone you can talk to that actually understands what you’re going through.”

Hopsin later commented on the trolling he’s faced throughout his music career.

“You run into it online or wherever it is and it can affect you,” he said. “And it’s just retarded. These people are talking about my life and all these things. And they don’t know anything. And you can ignore it and just be like ‘What the fuck? This person has no ties to me.’ But sometimes it’s just ‘Why are these guys talking about me, man? I’m just a guy doing stuff. Just trying to make the most of my life.’ And the whole fuckin’ Hip Hop shit is weird, dude.”
