Houston, Texas rapper Scarface has once again stated that he has no plans on working with the Geto Boys in the future. He went on to declare that he’s “never doing Geto Boys,” before offering an explanation for his decision.

According to Scarface, the fans don’t want new music from the group. He went on to reference an online fundraiser the group created months ago, which was unsuccessful. The group was hoping to raise $100,000 for a new album titled Habeas Corpus, but only received a little over $46,000.

“That shit ain’t never gonna happen,” Scarface said during an interview on The Unlikely Show. “I’m done. It’ll happen without me. I’m out of there. Done. You heard it right here for the 50th time ever. I’m never doing Geto Boys. That is not what the fans want. That’s not what the fans ask for. If the fans ask for it? Yeah, I would’ve did that shit. But that’s not what they wanted. I don’t think it was, because they had a Go Fund Me [Kickstarter] and that shit was unsuccessful. So, with that being said, I know that that’s not what they wanted to hear…The window of opportunity has shut and it is locked. With me.”

Later in the interview, Scarface offered a quick comparison to N.W.A, stating “I love the Geto Boys too, but N.W.A had a bigger impact.”

With the success of the N.W.A biopic, Straight Outta Compton, Scarface was asked about the possibility of a Geto Boys biopic. He revealed that he wouldn’t be down for a Geto Boys biopic at this time since it would look like they were “biting.”

“You should have did it first,” he said. “Otherwise, you fuckin’ biting…You have 30 years to put out Straight Outta Geto Boys. Because Straight Outta Compton sealed the deal. I have never seen it, but I know the story…I was a part of that story. I saw N.W.A. I’m friends with Eazy. I’m friends with Cube. I’m friends with Dre. I’m friends with Ren.”
