Kanye West’s candidacy for the 2020 presidential election has been embraced by the Democratic party.

“Last night @kanyewest declared his candidacy for president in 2020,” The Democrats wrote on its official twitter account, referring to the Chicago rapper-producer’s announcement at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards yesterday (August 31). “Welcome to the race, Mr. West. Glad to have you.”

“I don’t know what I’m finna lose after this it don’t matter though because it ain’t about me, it’s about new ideas bro people with ideas people who believe in truth,” he said during his speech. “And yes, as you probably could’ve guessed by this moment I have decided in 2020 to run for president.”

In addition to welcoming West to the race, The Democrats also created a meme about Scott Walker’s comments regarding building a wall between the United States and Canada.
