DMC says that he has two albums he is preparing to release.

One record, Flames, talks about police shootings and racial tensions, DMC says during an interview with OnMilwaukee. The set is produced by John Moyer from Disturbed, and features DMC with Myles Kennedy and Tom Morello.

Fired Up, the other project, features DMC collaborating with Rob Dukes from Exodus, Mick Mars from Motley Crue, Chuck D from Public Enemy, Joan Jett and Rome Ramirez from Sublime, among others.

DMC, whose given name is Darryl McDaniels, was in Milwaukee Saturday (August 22) to promote Clicks, the shoe boutique he opened in the Wisconsin city with Eric “Shake” James.

Elsewhere in the interview, DMC discusses why he launched his Darryl Makes Comics publishing company after having a lifelong interest in comic books.

“When I was in school, I’d learn about the planets and then I’d go home, and the Silver Surfer would actually take me to the planets,” DMC says. “The imagination is a very positive thing and I can honestly say comics made my scholastic abilities superior.”
