Straight Outta Compton was released to theaters Friday (August 14) and raked in approximately $60 million its opening weekend. XXL listed rappers who tried out for roles in the N.W.A biopic.
Chance the Rapper and B.o.B both auditioned for the role of Dr. Dre, who was portrayed by Corey Hawkins. The Chicago rapper is slated to appear in the forthcoming horror comedy Slice.
Compton, California rapper YG tried out in 2013 to play MC Ren. Aldis Hodge ended up playing the rapper.
