N.W.A’s DJ Yella had an interview with VladTV in which discusses he the newly-released movie Straight Outta Compton,which is in theaters today (August 14). Straight Outta Compton wasdirected by F. Gary Gray andproduced by Dr. Dre and Ice Cube, among others.
DJ Yella was portrayed the film by Neil Brown Jr. DJ Yella says Neil Brown Jr. is a great actor and was spot-on to how he used to look in his younger days. DJ Yella was also a consultant for the film, whose trailer garnered millions of views on YouTube.
“Twenty-two million views in 24 hours,” DJ Yella says of Straight Outta Compton‘s views on its YouTube trailer. “I’m just like ‘Wow.'”

Having seen the movie being produced and being able to watch the finishing product on screen, DJ Yella says he’s impressed. “It’s huge, you know,” he says. “It looks grand.”
