One year ago today, Michael Brown was killed by police officer Darren Wilson in one of the most controversial cases of police/minority relations in recent memory. The event sparked protests in Brown’s hometown of Ferguson, Missouri and to this day still remains as a source of inspiration for those protesting some police’s handling of unarmed black men in America.
The jury for the trail of Officer Wilson did not convict him of any wrongdoing and today, many are both commemorating his life and countering the decision regarding his death. Hip Hop, as always during controversial moments in America’s history since its inception, decided to weigh in.
