Bone thugs-n-harmony member Bizzy Bone tells HipHopDX the significance of Ice T’s Art Of Rap Festival.

“It’s important to stay in the know,” Bizzy Bone says in an exclusive interview that appears in today’s (July 30) DX Daily. “It’s important to stay relevant as well and then this is where we come from. This is why we made it.”

The event, which was held on June 18 in Irvine, California, linked Bone thugs with other legends like Xzibit, Warren G and DJ Quik.

“I could explain it like it’s an alma mater,” Bizzy Bone says. “Like a Hip Hop society. You have college. You have freshmen. You have this. You have that. You have the legends. All these motherfuckers on the stage tonight, legends. So that’s the kinda vibe. They all gonna be in the Hip Hop Hall of Fame in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, all of em, all of em one day.”

Bizzy Bone also shares his advice for the younger rappers looking up to him and the artists that appeared at the festival.

“Never, I think you never lose the smell and the vibe of music,” Bizzy Bone says. “The Woodstock and what it woulda been like to be there and then creating your own Woodstock and things of that nature. You have to be organic with the music continuously to enjoy it and then bring it to the next level.”

Bizzy Bone says touring is the main part of his agenda right now, which is what the fans want from him.

“We find out that they really wanna see us and touch us right now because they have all of our music,” he says. “50, 60 albums out amongst ourselves, mixtapes, etcetera, etcetera, so they have all of the music. So it’s being able to see us, touch us, us be there because everything else is basically tooken care of, videos and everything else it’s *snap at the drop of a finger. So it’s when you walk in and they say, ‘Hey,’ trust and believe it.”
