Earl Sweatshirt punched a fan who grabbed him from behind during a tour stop in Sydney, Australia last week, according to Complex.

Garrett Stevenson of Trash Talk then helped get the fan off the stage.

“keep your hands to yourself and don’t sneak up on niggas in the middle of soul bearing,” Earl Sweatshirt wrote on Twitter yesterday (July 25). “I’m not a tough guy!! I don’t like my personal space breached just like you. just respect niggas out here man not just me respect everybody.”

Earl Sweatshirts reps gave statements to Pitchfork. “That fan is not hugging him,” one of the Odd Future member’s reps said to the publication. “He approached from behind and his arms are around Earl’s face and neck.”

“Earl was attacked as far as any artist performing onstage would be concerned that is ambushed from behind, not hugged,” a second Earl Sweatshirt rep says.
