Drake announced yesterday (July 9) to Zane Lowe on Beats 1 radio that he will be hosting his own OVO Sound show on the station.
Drake compares his show and Apple’s newest features to his OVO blog, where he would release music and updates freely to fans.
“This is something that I’m so excited about,” the Toronto rapper says, “because you wanna talk about getting gems, getting treats. This is definitely where you’re gonna go to get your fix.”

Drake joins Dr. Dre, Pharrell Williams and Jaden Smith as celebrity hosts on Beats 1.
“Everybody else has had their show,” he says. “Everybody else has had their shot, so you gotta give us our shot now. It’s our time now. I’m ready. You wanna talk about being competitive, I challenge everybody else to have a radio show to beat this.”
Drake’s show airs today (July 10) at 6 p.m. PST. on Beats 1 Radio.
