Nowadays radio plays mostly Top 40 hits, with the rare occasions set aside to throw it back to an earlier time, just to keep the old heads happy.

Recently, in West Price Hill, Ohio, a town close to Cincinnati, a pirated radio station gave residents of the area all the throwback they could handle as nothing but Geto Boys played for weeks on end.

According to Local 12, a pirated radio station, which took over 87.9 FM, operated for months as residents heard nothing but uncensored music from the Houston rap group. Locals reportedly let the feds know what was going on, supposedly due to the “foul language.”

On Wednesday (July 1), the FCC put an end to the station, shutting it down and giving those uninterested in hearing “Mind Playing Tricks On Me” and “Still” a break.

It is still unclear who pirated the station or for what reason.

Ironically, Geto Boys played in Cincinnati the following weekend.
