During an interview with Power 105.1’s Angie Martinez, Meek Mill discussed two of rap’s most acclaimed artists.

“I don’t listen to J. Cole and I don’t listen to Kendrick” Lamar, the Philadelphia rapper says. “I think that they’re dope lyricists and they’re like great rappers, but they don’t inspire me. It don’t seem like they be talking to me.

“That ain’t no hate at all,” Meek Mill adds.

The MMG rapper also tells Angie that he’s not a fan of today’s music.

“I don’t be liking the music that be out, though,” he says, “I won’t ever play it in my car.”

Meek says that he listens to Future, Dej Loaf, Young Thug and OGs such as Jay Z.

“Who music out right now that would touch me or inspire me or a person like me?” Meek Mill says. “Nobody really except like Future.”

Meek also talks about how he predicted that he and Nicki Minaj would end up together.

“Me and my homies still talk about it when I was sitting on the couch,'” he says. “We was watching Nicki on the ‘Bed Rock’ video and I was like, ‘I’m going to get her, on my life’ and you see I tweeted it like five years ago. I’m going to get Nicki Minaj.”

Meek Mill also says that she was around for him when he was in jail and that he’s in love with her.
