Tyga took to Twitter today (July 1) to explain the rollout for his Gold Album: 18th Dynasty album.

He says that he put the stream out for free.

“Didn’t plan on selling it Kuz of label problems,” he writes. “It’s a dope album. Got a lot of great feedback and millions of streams.”

Last week, Tyga released the album stream for Spotify via Twitter. The Cash Money artist said a few days later that he purposefully made the album free for fans to enjoy. He revealed the album is an independent project and then released the album on iTunes.

The West Coast rapper is listed on Cash Money’s artist roster on the label’s website.

Tyga includes Lil Wayne in his thank yous for the album. Lil Wayne is leading a campaign against Cash Money, saying the label is mistreating himself, Nicki Minaj and Drake.
