Yesterday (June 30) Misty Copeland became the first African-American woman to be named principal dancer at the American Ballet Theatre, The New York Times reports.

Various artists took to social media to congratulate Copeland on her accomplishment.

Lecrae posted a picture of Copeland’s Time cover, quoting the magazine’s congratulatory tweet.

Rapsody, the first lady of Jamla, posted a picture of Copeland on Instagram, congratulating her on the accomplishment.

MC Hammer posted a video from one of the ballerina’s Under Armour commercials to congratulate her on the promotion.

Copeland is a spokeswoman for Under Armour and has appeared on So You Think You Can Dance.
