Shannen Hudson, known also by his rap name Young Ready, was one of two men killed on Tuesday (June 23). NBC affiliate KPLC reports that Young Ready and another man, 28-year-old Jare Stevenson, were killed in a shooting that took place in Bogalusa, Louisiana.

“Ready’s music was the voice of the streets of Louisiana and other areas,” Kaleel Cain, Young Ready’s social network promoter said while speaking with KPLC. “He will be truly missed.”

According to the local coroner, one victim died from a single gunshot while the other died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Young Ready was 31-years-old at the time of his death, and would have celebrated a birthday in July. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana rapper also owned his own record label, Bow Entertainment.

The shooting is currently under investigation by the Bogalusa Police Department. There are no suspects at this time.
