A riot occurred Sunday (June 7) outside of Met Life stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey where Hot 97’s 2015 Summer Jam was being held.

Concertgoers clashed with state police when the annual Hip Hop show shut its doors around 7P.M., according to the Asbury Park Press.

While approximately 55,000 people were inside enjoying the event, a select group of disgruntled fans reportedly barged through a gate and threw bottles at officers in a face-off outside of the venue.

A security guard on site witnessed a police officer get struck by a table.

Police used tear gas on the crowd of 1,000, which led to attendees scurrying to the surrounding parking lots.
