Lil Durk stopped by New York radio station Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club” today (June 2).

During his interview with hosts Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy, the 22-year-old rapper spoke about two recent murders that hit close to home: those of his manager Chino and of rapper Chinx.

When Charlamagne asks whether the drill rapper “moves differently” since the deaths of Chinx and Chino, Durk replies, “Yeah, of course.”

“It was just eye-opening that we should’ve been moving the right way,” he says. “We was running around with our heads cut off. Excited, because of the money, the fame, and the bitches, and we were making mistakes. When the stuff happened to Chino, we like ‘Alright, we gotta watch what we doing,’ but the shit happens so much in Chicago we was like, ‘Damn, nothing new.’ Then the thing happened with Chinx, so it’s like, ‘Alright we really gotta pay attention.'”

Later in the interview, “The Breakfast Club” asks Durk what will it take to “make the situation better” in Chicago.

“If everybody puts their head together, use their voices and put their pride to aside,” he says.
