Kanye West has participated in numerous college speaking events, especially when it regards fashion.
On Friday (May 30), West spoke to students of Los Angeles Trade Technical College and explained how he believes that those who are most talented are hated on the most.
“It’s a tough world out there,” he told LATC students. “You’ve got to prepare yourself for politics, bad bosses, hating employees and usually when you’re the absolute best, you get hated on the most.”

‘Ye also relayed his own struggles in breaking out of music and entering other realms of creation.
“Even for me as a successful musician, in order to make the transition, it was really all but impossible,” he said. “People always try to box you in to what they know you best for. The most successful artists are closest to who they were when they were five years old or four years old or three years old or when my daughter wakes up and decides to change her career seven times a day. I feel extremely excited to see new talent fighting for their voice that I can only image they’ve been fighting for since age three.”
In 2014, Kanye Westspoke at Los Angeles Trade Technical College as well. It was his third visit to the college in the six weeks prior to that engagement. His involvement stemmed from a paparazzi altercation plea deal he struck in March of that year.

In November 2013, West spoke at Harvard University. During his speech, he spoke about his admiration for the work of DONDA and his beliefs regarding design “saving the world.”
