Birdman owed more than $1.9 million in taxes to the government and was issued federal tax liens in December 2014 and February 2015, according to TMZ.
The site says that he paid the outstanding amounts this year.
The government had threatened to seize Birdman‘s assets had he not paid the debt.

Birdman’s Cash Money Records protege Lil Wayne also had recent tax issues.
The YMCMB rapper reportedly owed more than $12 million in taxes in 2014.
Lil Wayne reportedly failed to pay taxes for 2011 and 2012. According to TMZ’s report at the time, Wayne owed $5,843,952 for 2011 and $6,311,132 for 2012.

Wayne also reportedly owed $7 million in back taxes in 2008-2009, a debt he reportedly cleared in 2012.
