During an interview with Tax Season Podcast, Combat Jack spoke in-depth about his feud with fellow Hip Hop personality, Peter Rosenberg. While speaking on the feud, The Combat Jack Show host revealed that he didn’t always have ill feelings towards Rosenberg.
Combat Jack recalled listening to both Rosenberg and Cipha Sounds and thinking the two would be “good contenders” for the morning show on Hot 97, which was hosted by the West Coast-based Big Boy at the time.
“I didn’t come here to talk about that,” Combat Jack said when asked about Rosenberg. “I was advised not to speak about this too. Just in terms of like empowering that dude and going into that issue. Dude, it’s a long story…I don’t wanna keep perpetuating this shit, but the fact that you’re telling me that that’s what you getting out of the story is fucked up, man. I grew up in New York City. I grew up listening to black radio, to Hip Hop radio. So, I’ve always been a fan of Hot 97…To me, this whole thing starts when Hot 97 was in transition. And Big Boy from out West, they was piping him in to do the morning show. And the shit just didn’t feel right…I remember hearing Cipha Sounds and Rosenberg and they sounded like they would be good contenders for the morning show because they kinda new the culture.”

The former Hip Hop attorney then addressed a handful of comments Rosenberg made via Twitter and on the morning show.
The first comment was made about Al Sharpton during Michel Jackson’s memorial service while the other was a remark Rosenberg made about Muammar Gaddafi on air, commentary Combat Jack says he felt wasn’t suitable for a Hip Hop show on Hot 97.
“They got on the morning show and I was like really happy,” the former attorney said. “So, shortly after that it was Michael Jackson’s death. And that shit hit everybody [hard]. That shit hit…I’m watching the memorial of Michael Jackson. I remember Al Sharpton got up to speak. And Rosenberg—Who I’m still trying to get familiar with is shitting on Al Sharpton…It just felt real funny coming from him at that event…I remember it was in 2009. It was the UN General Assembly was going on. And it was big shit going on in the news about Muammar Gaddafi, head of state for Libya. He was in town and they were smearing him because apparently he’s had some unsavory practices in his country.

“I’m listening to Hot 97 and Rosenberg is on the radio saying how we have to get rid of Muammar Gaddafi,” he added. “How we gotta chase him out of New York. And I’m like ‘Woah, woah, woah. This is Hip Hop radio. This is not CNN. This is not Fox’…I hit him and he was like ‘Yeah, Muammar Gaddafi is murdering kids and blah blah blah.’ And I was like ‘Yo, but if you’re gonna be on this platform and if you’re going to be pointing at Muammar Gaddafi then we should also be talking about Israel.’”
Combat Jack then revealed that after he tweeted Rosenberg about his on-air comments about Muammar Gaddafi, he responded with “I’ll slap the shit out of you in front of your kids.”
