Chris Rock pays attention to music.

In a recent interview with Complex, the comedian, once dubbed “the funniest man in America,” spoke on several artists and albums he’s currently listening to.

When asked to name his “top five” artists for 2015, Rock replied: “Oh my god, well I love this Kendrick.”

“I think Kendrick’s really good,” he said in regards to Kendrick’s album To Pimp A Butterfly. “Big Sean is surprisingly good. I mean, not that I thought he was bad [before], he’s just way better than I thought.”

Rock also named Jay Electronica and “that guy that likes the CoCo” [O.T. Genasis] but says it’s too early in the year to deliver a well-rounded top five.

“I just hope there’s a good, real hot [album from] Kanye,” Rock said. “Desperately waiting for Kanye. And you know Jay [Z] is not gonna just let somebody else have the summer.”

“You know Jay is working on it right now,” he continued. “It’s wide open, nobody is ruling it right now. Unless Jay Z steps in.”

Rock’s latest movie Top Five is now available on DVD and Blu-ray.
