While his label-mate plots a takeover with To Pimp A Butterfly, TDE emcee Jay Rock is finally nearing the release of his own second album, according to Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith.

Last year TDE founder and President Top Dawg announced that Jay Rock’s yet-to-be-titled sophomore album would follow Ab-Soul’sThese Days… as the label’s next release. Ever since, news of another Jay Rock album has been sparse but in the meantime Rock has showed out as a guest artist on songs like Kendrick Lamar’s “Money Trees,” Isaiah Rashad’s “Shot You Down,” and even YG’s “I Just Wanna Party.”

Last night Top Dawg took to Twitter to promise fans that progress has been made on the album, the TDE founder going as far as posting pictures of completed music to make the point.

Immediately after Top again refocused attention on label-star Kendrick Lamar, sharing a hopeful goal of pushing a million copies of To Pimp A Butterfly in the album’s first week.
