Lil Scrappy recently sat down with DJ Smallz to talk about the 57th annual Grammy Awards and this year’s Album of the Year recipient, Beck.
Within the four-and-a-half minute visual, Scrappy admits that he only “watched some of the Grammys.”
He did happen to catch the moment when Kanye stepped on stage as Beck was receiving the Gramophone for Album of the Year. ‘Ye chose not to interrupt Beck, but Scrappy believes he should have.

“I feel him,” Scrappy says within the clip. “I feel like he should’ve just went up there and did that shit.”
The “No Problem” rapper also went on to say that the prestigious award show should honor artists that are more well known.
“You give somebody a Grammy because everybody knows them in every genre,” he says. “Shit, everybody know Beyoncé. Beyoncé just came off a world tour, this idiot never did a world tour. If he have we didn’t know it. Black people know, White people know, Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, everybody know about Beyoncé. This asshole, fucking idiot. I call him an idiot because I would’ve gave it to him too. I would’ve gave it to Beyoncé.

“I don’t even know who the fuck you are,” he continued. “My genre of music don’t know him and for you to get a Grammy, all genres should know you.”
Scrappy – never nominated for a Grammy – did name-drop a few non-Hip Hop artists he felt are deserving. Since their songs play on urban radio, he believes Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and Maroon 5 should get Grammys.
“I never heard of Beck until now,” Scrap explains, “the only Beck I heard of was Becky’s and I love that.”
