TMZ caught up with Common outside of Equinox fitness club to ask him about his Golden Globe win.
“I’m just happy that people are responding to Selma and that I’m part of a film that has this type of impact,” he says.
Common won a Golden Globe with John Legend for the song “Glory,” which was featured in the movie Selma. The movie depicts Martin Luther King, Jr.’s journey to Montgomery, Alabama.

The song is also nominated for Best Song in the Oscars, which are slated be on February 22.
