Rappers Lupe Fiasco and Daylyt took part in a rap battle in an unexpected arena this week as they exchanged bars on Twitter yesterday (December 30). It’s unclear what spawned the battle, but it appears that Daylyt may have been the one to kick off the back-and-forth.
The battle rapper began the exchange by tweeting both Lupe and rapper Mickey Factz. Daylyt recalled battling Lupe before and says the Chicago, Illinois rapper only won because he “can’t spell.”
Following Daylyt’s initial interaction, the two emcees began to swap bars via the social media site.
The Twitter rap battle between Daylyt and Lupe lasted close to an hour before the two concluded their exchange of bars.
Daylyt and Lupe’s Twitter rap battle comes weeks before the scheduled January 20, 2015 release of Lupe’s Tetsuo & Youth album.
